1) People are not equal.
2) People are not of equal value.
Both statements are not only true, but completely obvious. There's no need for extensive discussion or argumentation.
Regarding 1): Just look at people. Proof complete.
Regarding 2): You have âŦ100 to give away. Does every one of the approximately 8 billion people on this planet have the same chance of receiving it from you?
Or: You hear about a violent crime. Do you react identically â regardless of whether it's your mother or an unknown person on another continent? If you're not a complete psychopath... almost certainly NO.
Value is subjective. Value is a human attribution, not a physical quantity. There is no reason, absolutely none whatsoever, why all people should have the same value.
Visualization of different moral circles â who is closer to you?
Unfortunately, we have had a public education system for several decades that wants to indoctrinate us with the equality and equal value of all people. Fortunately, it has only limited success with point 1), simply because the differences are too obvious. But many people then retreat to a position that still ignores 2) or actively claims the opposite. It is seen as morally wrong to value people differently. But the opposite is true. Anyone who values their own sister identically to a Muslim rapist is, in my eyes, a bad person. This too remains ultimately subjective, but I think the opposite view quite obviously leads to complete hell.
And that is ultimately exactly what has been happening in numerous Western countries in recent years. In the UK, fathers who want to free their daughters from the clutches of Pakistani "grooming gangs" are arrested. In Germany, women who call a rapist a "despicable rapist pig" are sentenced to a higher penalty than said despicable rapist pig. Such verdicts are no accident. They are not fate.
They are the result of an ideology that places equality above justice.
And these are just the peaks, the same ideology (alongside typical corruption) leads to bicycle paths in Peru while our bridges collapse. The same ideology leads to tax-funded rental of luxury hotels for refugees while there is a housing shortage. The same ideology leads to energy price increases to supposedly save the global climate.
The mania for equality is not a symptom. It is the root of all evil.
